Mermoz provides a single map (the «Aérodromes Français» map). But it is designed to work with the following map products:
• U.S. VFR Maps (aka «Sectional Charts»)
• French ICAO Map from IGN
• Maps from Editerra
✦ What is «France OACI» map ?
It is a digital map published par IGN. It provides the digital equivalent of the four paper VFR charts 1/500.000 that most french pilots use for their VFR navigation. This map is updated yearly. It can be purchased directly from the application.
✦ What are «Air Million» maps ?
It is family of 1/1.000.000 maps published by Editerra. They cover all Europe. They can be bought directly from the application.
✦ What are «Sectional Charts» ?
These are VFR maps for United States. They are published by the Federal Aviation Admnistration (FAA) and can be downloaded freely from the FAA’s web site.
✦ What are the aeronautical data provided by Mermoz ?
Mermoz knows the list of the European and U.S. airports. It also knows all the nav aids (NDB and VOR) from these territories.
✦ Why «Mermoz» ?
Mermoz is the name of a famous french aviator who flew from 1920 to 1936 between France and South America.
